Parts of a Stem

In the elementary years we delve a little deeper into concepts that have already been introduced at the Casa level.

After discussing the needs of plants and exploring leaves and roots we generally begin our exploration of stems.

We introduce stems by discussing their main function, creating a narrative. This is also a good opportunity to conduct experiments.

We also talk about the two types of stems, herbaceous and woody. This can be expanded upon later.

On the shelf I have parts of a stem cards for revising and reinforcing what was covered in the lessons and discussions.

As a special treat for Montessori Bloggers Network readers I have a free file of the part labels and a mute chart. You can find this free file HERE.

And as an *extra special offer* I am sharing my parts of a stem nomenclature cards for free until the end of March. You can find the file HERE.
